Armando Montelongo, Sr., 90 years old, fell asleep in death on the evening of August 13, 2024. In the arms of his loving wife of 67 years, Joyce Faye Montelongo, accompanied by his family at his side, who so lovingly cared for him in his last days. Armando peacefully passed in his home of natural causes.

Armando, born in San Antonio, Texas, married the love of his life, Joyce Faye Montelongo on June 1st, 1957, at the age of 23.

Armando was most proud of his eight children, Paul, Patricia, Carlos, Ricardo, Elisa, Pamela, Armando, Jr., and David.

He enjoyed a full life raising his family.

He was blessed with 18 grandchildren, Cole, Evan, Jordan, Michael, Christopher, Javier, Anthony, Monique, Priscilla, Zechariah, Anastacia, Armando Sebastian, Maximillian, Titan, Atlas, Zion, Eden, Syre.

His heavenly Father, Jehovah God, also blessed him with 5 great grandchildren, Isabella, Ava, Axle, Scarlet Rose, Olivia. He was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his 6th great grandchild, Elaine. It was his greatest pride and joy to be able to enjoy the company of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Early in his life his secular careers included working for the US Post Office, military service, high school teacher, and a high school football coach. Through his career as a teacher and football coach he positively influenced and directed many youths in the direction of success in life.

Armando then became a business owner in 1975. He started his first business, Montelongo Lumber Company. In a few short years with the assistance of his wife, Joyce Faye, he built a very successful construction company that became widely known in San Antonio.

Other than his family life, Armando’s most important achievement was his ministry. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on July 18th, 1975. For almost half a century Armando served as a minister and elder in the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He served as a pioneer or a full-time minister for approximately 25 years. He so loved and appreciated teaching and preaching about his heavenly Father, Jehovah God.

Armando had the privilege of speaking publicly at conventions and assemblies about his faith and hope of a new paradise earth under the reign of God’s son, Jesus Christ. Through his teaching he assisted many to come to know Jehovah God and dedicate their lives to their heavenly Father.

Armando will be missed by his family, friends, and his brothers and sisters in the faith.
